As a dedicated disability support worker and mentor, my journey began with a deep understanding of the challenges individuals with disabilities face in forging meaningful connections and friendships. It became evident that many were struggling to navigate these social waters due to a lack of skills and self-assurance. Thus, the seeds of the Disability Friendship Building Program were sown, which has since flourished into a thriving business endeavor aimed at empowering people with disabilities to discover and nurture genuine friendships.
Our innovative program is tailored to those who share the desire to connect and interact within their community. By fostering a secure and all-encompassing environment, we bring individuals together, nurturing both new and existing friendships. Through our distinct Hang Pad sessions, we allow friendship groups to blossom organically, fostering regular interaction that facilitates natural bonds to flourish.
In addition to our regular gatherings, we recognize the importance of venturing beyond our safe haven into the wider community. This is a crucial aspect of our comprehensive social inclusion initiative, designed to strengthen confidence and trust in both new and established relationships. These outings provide a unique opportunity for clients to expand their social horizons, forming connections that extend beyond our program’s confines.
