About What we offer
NDIS funded Support, we help people living with Disabilities find and keep friends.
At My Mates Place, we provide a safe inclusive environment where people living with disabilities can discover friendships while building self-confidence. Our sessions mostly take place in the Hang Pad a neutral and safe location, we also venture out into our community for activity’s like eating out, seeing a show or sporting event. Also, activities like fishing or joining sporting teams. We even do overnight camping!
Our participants are at the forefront of organizing all their activity’s so that in the near future they can access the community independently, with the skills learnt at My Mates Place.

The hang pad
The hang pad is located at 20 Chandada street Seaview Downs. We can collect the group and bring them back or you can choose to get there yourself.
Then enjoy the safe environment provided to our participants, where they can relax and enjoy each other’s company building the strong bonds only getting together on a regular basis can nurture, watching TV, playing computer games, or doing many different activities.
This is also where our participants will organise their outings into the community and other adventures.
Outings in the community
Participants are encouraged to organise their own outings into the community, whether that be going out to dinner or a local sporting event or show!
We like our participants to organise and take control of their decisions and make them as a group.
Our mentors are always there to assist and make sure every organised event will run smoothly.

Respite
We take pride in providing a respite service to our families in need of it. Weather it’s a one-time or regular arrangement, we like to be flexible as long as we have the room available.
Our unique approach includes sleepovers for participants, and we can comfortably accommodate three individuals overnight in their own beds.
Camping with groups
We love outings into the community. Where participants are encouraged to do the bulk of the organisation and planning, the group will also attend specific camping skills sessions. Where they will learn to organise their camps, their food and their activities while away camping.

We recognize the occasional need for extra family support adding an extra one on one session or emergency respite. Additionally, we include siblings in outings and maintain regular meetings and progress notes for parents.
